Impact sound insulation

We provide outstanding impact sound insulation for floors, a perfect combination of highly elastic recycled rubber granules and ultra-durable polyamide 6 filaments. The products withstand compression optimally under the screed, significantly reducing the impact sound transmission index (L'nT,w) and increasing the sound insulation performance ΔLw for the project.

Product catalogue and how to choose

Impact sound insulation underlayment

EnkaSonic® E10

EnkaSonic® E10 impact sound insulation (about 10 mm thick) is designed to effectively eliminate footstep noise and mechanical impact noise on floors. Its durable 3D hollow filament structure breaks the sound connection between the concrete slab and the floor finish, improving the IIC rating by up to 22 dB. The product has excellent compressive strength and keeps 97% of its thickness after long use.

  • Origin: China
  • IIC rating: 59 (ASTM E989, WTCB)
  • Size: Roll 45 × 1.02 m

Impact sound insulation underlayment

GenieMat® FF03NP

GenieMat® FF03NP impact sound insulation mat (3 mm thick) is made from 94% recycled rubber bound with premium polyurethane, made to eliminate impact sound under the screed or the finished floor covering. The product does not compress or sink over time, protects the floor structure, effectively reduces sound transmission (ΔLw 23) and meets the international LEED green building standard.

  • Origin: Canada
  • IIC rating: 55
  • Size: Sheet 1.22 × 2.13 m or roll 1.22 × 9.14 m

Impact sound insulation underlayment

GenieMat® FF05NP

GenieMat® FF05NP impact sound insulation mat (5 mm thick) is made from 94% recycled rubber bound with polyurethane, optimising vibration damping and eliminating impact noise on concrete floors. It has high elastic durability, carries large loads, significantly improves the impact sound improvement index (ΔLw 25) and outstandingly meets the LEED green standard.

  • Origin: Canada
  • IIC rating: 56
  • Size: Sheet 1.22 × 2.13 m or roll 1.22 × 9.14 m

Impact sound insulation underlayment

GenieMat® RST05

GenieMat® RST05 impact sound insulation mat (5 mm thick) is made from highly elastic recycled rubber, made to be laid directly under wood flooring, ceramic tile or the screed. It effectively eliminates footstep noise and mechanical impact noise, resists sinking and raises the acoustic index (ΔLw 25) for LEED-certified projects.

  • Origin: Canada
  • IIC rating: 56
  • Size: Sheet 1.22 × 2.13 m or roll 1.22 × 9.14 m

Where the underlayment sits in the floor system

The impact sound underlayment sits between the floor structure and the floor finish. The exact position depends on the product, so check each datasheet.

  1. 1 Floor structure Concrete slab, steel or timber structure.
  2. 2 Impact sound layer EnkaSonic® or GenieMat® underlayment laid over the floor structure.
  3. 3 Screed or adhesive All 4 products can be laid beneath the screed.
  4. 4 Floor finish Tile, stone, timber, vinyl or carpet, depending on the product.

Underlayment roll calculator

Enter the floor area and choose a product. The result is for estimating only; check it against your drawings and the actual layout.

The area of each roll or sheet is calculated from the packaging size.

Chosen by you to suit the layout, not a manufacturer figure.

Result

Enter the area to see the number of rolls needed.

The result is an estimate; the actual quantity depends on the layout, cutting and how the material is laid.
